Our Hard-Working Mascots, Dallas and Booker T.

Dallas

Dallas arrived at the shelter a very sick kitty. As he healed, Dallas grew on us and we decided to let him run around the shelter. We soon has ourselves a cat mascot.

His main job is to test dogs to see if they like cats. That's right! Dallas is a very brave cat. He seems to know which dogs he can trust and which dogs he should stay far away from. We let Dallas do the work and we decide on whether we can deem a dog "cat-safe" or not.

Dallas also greets visitors when he is awake and he loves an occasional scratch on the head from people who pass by. He loves to play with some of the cats at the shelter. Dallas is a great help to us and we wouldn't give him up for any reason!!!

Booker T -- The Boxer

Booker arrived at the shelter as a 9 week old puppy. He was an absolute monster. He chewed on everything, including us!.

He wasn't adoptable so we kept him as a shelter mascot, got him neutered and started obedience training at Mighty Mutt K-9 College.

Now, Booker is a great shelter mascot. He goes to public appearances and shows off with great pride for the shelter.

Booker also helps us with the shelter dogs, testing every dog that walks through the door. He can even convince some of our dog-aggressive dogs that not all dogs are bad.

He also works with the cats at the shelter. If someone wants to adopt a cat and wants to know how the cat likes dogs, Booker is the tester. Booker is a busy boy. At the end of the day, he goes home with the shelter director and plays with her dogs.
